Bottle Feeders:(Fat or Worms)

Bootle Feeders:

- a bottle of empty milk; 

- a knife or a cutter; 

- 1 big and hard stick or 2 small ones; 

- wire (essential!); 

- string .

With the knife or the cutter, cut from two different sides of the windows (see photo). Plant the sticks or sticks under the windows having first drill with the machine small slots for the (s) host. Lift up the "shutters" of the doors, drill slots to place the string and tie it around. Do the same with the other end of the string on the other opening by wrapping the little rope around the neck of this bottle and that's it! Now you just have to make a loop with the wire to put under the plug and fill with grease mixed with seeds or put some mealworms inside to hang on a tree.

Coconut 

With a saw, saw it. Collect the fibers from the nuts for use during the nesting season to use them to nest. Take one of the two halves, pierce it, put a rope inside and hang on a tree. Evident the other half, grate and dry the flesh and then soak before serving. Drill two small holes in the bottom of the hollowed "shell", pass a rope in these two small holes and seal around the rope. Put the fat-seed mixture indoors, cool and hang. If not, drill a hole in the bottom and pass a rather large wire in this hole. Fold the lower part inwards and then put back most of the wire. The final phase is to fold the two hook ends, to put a small net on the hook at the bottom and hang on a tree. This is how to please tits, pics, nuthatches and robins with a simple coconut!

Picnic fruit

The blackbird, the robin, the thrushes ... They love all apples and their trunks. To please them, nothing is easier! Simply plant a nail in the middle of a 15 x 8 cm board, prick a quarter of apple on this nail and tie the whole thing on a branch with string. You can also hang it on a wall by nailing on the original board a board of the same size. Nail the set on a wall and that will make many birds happy!

Variant Ste Barbe

Do you know Ste Barbe? It is a Christian holiday tradition that in early December, we put lentils in a cup containing cotton soaked in water for 28 days to see them sprout. There is a variation of putting sunflower seeds instead of lentils and, after 28 days, putting the sprouts in a pot filled with potting soil. You can make the variant and get the sunflower to give to the birds.

And yes ! The nets do not have a single use! They can be used to put one or more ball of fat, peanuts ... For that, to pierce a net, to fill it with peanuts, dried fruits or balls of fat and to hang on a small hook! Here's how to recycle these small fillets that basically contain onions, shallots or industrial fat balls!

Log for Great Spotted Woodpeckers

For this, we need only a log, a wood chisel (or bell saw), grease, peanuts and a piton. With the wood chisel (or the hole saw), make holes larger or smaller and deeper all over the log and spaced each by at least 10 cm. Screw the stud to one of the ends of the stand, fill the holes with grease and peanuts, put in the fridge and that's it! This log will be very popular with woodpeckers and tits!

Variation: do not pierce the log and glue or nail capsules or caps, both filled with fat and seeds.

For this we need only scissors and a milk carton. Cut the brick as in the picture, then, with the falls of the brick, cut the ears and the eyes. Wedge the ears in slots provided for this purpose and stick the eyes, hang and you have a beautiful Halloween feeder (you can also paint it)!

It's simple! For that, one needs only fat, an open pine cone, a wire and a ladle with "bill". Pour the fat into the interstices of the pine cone, pass a wire into a hole drilled before, and hang in a tree!

I love to contemplate my kitchen. In these times of uncertainty, the sight of my kitchen, tidy, something soothing, like the primal scream without cry, finally I must understand, the primal blanket. In this kitchen, the morning coffee has a fabulous taste, life an eternity assured, nothing moves, all is well. 

For "amateurs" if I can get my hands on old photos of the house, I will do one before after. Very amusing, because the anguish that reigned in this dilapidation (as S Royal and many others I make my words) made me run away cold, icy, trembling, everything changed. I'm still waiting to finally install "my" wood stove, chosen model, lousy said Thom at the Franco-Belgian look, very 1950 ,

The Next Book on My Shelf

A few weeks ago I started a Copywriting Challenge. I decided to write an article a day, and some LiveMentor students joined me in this noble challenge! 

At first I thought of writing an article about the books that matter to an entrepreneur. But it is already seen, and especially there is an exceptional publication on the Facebook page of LiveMentor (look at the comments!):

So I will write about another theme: how to choose the right book?

The underlying question being, what should I be learning at the moment? What is my priority?

In the article  How much does it cost to start a business? , I tell the story of my first business and filing for bankruptcy. I explain my learning investments that are useless .. and my discovery that you need to know how to create a community and master the basics of technology (create a site with WordPress) to launch a project effectively.

What is nice (or horrible, depending on the day) with entrepreneurship is that the necessary skills change all the time. Right now, I'm learning to lead a growing team. We recruit mentors, admissions officers, academics researchers on permanent contracts and internships.

Since I announced these recruitments on LinkedIn, I have received many congratulatory messages. Let's be honest, it's not fun every day!

Yet I am surrounded by bright and very caring people. I have never heard someone at LiveMentor say anything bad about someone else, make plots, or break someone else's work behind him. I knew that at Ubisoft when I was in charge of marketing the game on the Smurfs.

Why is it so hard for a founder when he recruits and his team grows. The difficulty does not come from people, but simply from learning a new everyday life.

It is no longer possible to do everything yourself! I spent a LOT of time realizing what it meant. I have practiced many different jobs at LiveMentor (designer, front-end developer, product manager, marketer, mentor, admissions manager, fundraiser, etc. ..). As I love our mission, I can easily to have fun as long as you do not ask me to put my nose in the accounts.

Except that .. we're not here to have fun every day 🙂 And that right now, you have to put your nose in accounting. That it is necessary to find the right balance between going out of certain subjects, without going to lock oneself in an ivory tower and not knowing anything more about the ground.

I was advised to read "  The Five Temptations of a CEO  ", a book that warns against bad temptations of the CEO.

Like that of being popular, that of keeping the blur too long while waiting to be certain or that of not building a relationship of trust with his teams because one is afraid to appear vulnerable.
